Your resume fields stay in your browser.
meracvresume.com works without an account. This page explains the difference between your local resume draft and the standard technical information involved in serving a website.
Resume content and local draft recovery
The builder saves your resume in your browser's localStorage so a refresh does not erase your work. Each saved resume contains the resume fields (including a photo, if you added one), the selected language and template, and the time it was last saved. It remains on that browser and device. A second, tiny entry only notes that you have started a resume, so the same draft is not counted twice in our usage numbers. It holds no resume content.
Several resumes on this device
“My resumes” keeps up to 10 resumes, for example one for each kind of job. Each one is saved separately in this browser's localStorage, the same way as a single draft. They are not sent to us and do not sync to your other devices. Renaming, copying or deleting a resume happens only in this browser.
Backup files
“Save a backup” makes a small file (ending in -meracvresume-backup.json) with one resume, in your browser, and saves it to your device like any download. We never receive it. “Open a backup” reads the file in your browser and adds it as a new resume; it never replaces one you have. Anyone who has the file can read the resume in it, so keep it as carefully as any personal document.
Job posts you paste
“Match to a job post” compares the words in a job post with your resume entirely in your browser. The text you paste is not sent anywhere and is forgotten when you leave the page, unless you tick “Keep this job post with this resume”. Then it is saved with that resume, in this browser only, until you untick it or delete the resume.
No resume account or cloud dashboard
The current product does not ask you to create an account and does not send your resume fields to a meracvresume.com resume database. There is no cloud dashboard to sync drafts across devices.
Website delivery information
The website is hosted on Cloudflare. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare may process standard request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and request time. This technical request information is separate from the resume fields you type into the builder.
Visit and usage measurement
We use Google Analytics to count page visits and a few anonymous usage events, such as “resume started”, “builder step opened”, “layout or language changed”, “link shared”, or “PDF downloaded” together with the layout and language chosen, or that a resume was copied, a backup file was saved, or a job post was checked (with only a rough range for how many of its key words were found, such as 50–75%). These events help us see which parts of the tool are used. They never include what you type: no name, contact details, work history, or any other resume content. Google Analytics runs only on meracvresume.com, and Google may set its own cookies to tell repeat visits apart.
PDF generation and links
The PDF is prepared in your browser using font files served from this website. Contact and project links that you enter may be clickable in the preview and downloaded PDF. We do not control what happens after you open an external link or share the PDF.
How to remove your resumes
To remove one resume, open “My resumes”, choose Delete and confirm. To remove everything, choose “Clear all data” in the builder and confirm: this removes every meracvresume.com resume, and any kept job post, from that browser. Clearing browser site data also removes them. Downloaded PDF, Word and backup files are separate files under your control and are not deleted by clearing the browser.
